Being a Halo fan is like being in an abusive relationship. You just keep coming back for more ball kickings and you can’t get enough, can you? Well guys, we do have some good Halo news and this is kind of what keeps us in. And this is actually something I’m very excited about because I think really at the end of the day, the problem is 343, the culture, something about that studio. And what today’s news is about is about a different studio coming in. According to some rumors, some reports, this is very good stuff. We’re going to talk about some dark theories, too. Right. So, obviously, the big thing on the menu right now is the Halo CE remake. When are we going to hear about this? When is it going to release? I think it’s going to release next year around the holidays, right? 2026. And this is because of quite a few pieces of evidence. Obviously, we have Phil Spencer during the Xbox Game Showcase this year saying that the next year, uh, next Xbox Game Showcase, the return of a classic that’s been with us since the beginning, he said, will be there. So, that sounds a lot like Halo. While it’s not definitive, it almost feels like he doesn’t want to say Halo, but it is pretty clearly Halo, but we still don’t know 100%, I guess. But I’m kind of disturbed by this theory that the next Halo game, this Halo CE remake, is going to be rewritten to fit the Halo TV show. I’m sure that was suggested at some point, but the fact that they lost millions of dollars on the TV show and was canned. I think that at least the executives know that this is not a good direction to take the Halo series and hopefully they have changed course. Now, with that being said, Xbox has laid off a lot of people, and I I kind of regret the way that I covered this information because it seemed like it’s a very bad thing, but this could also be a good thing. Well, a Halo dev recently came out and said that nobody is really happy about the quality of the next game. Now, what next game is this? I think that it’s the Halo CE remake. They said that there was a project in Crisis recently, and I think that again, this is the Halo CE remake. This is a new engine. A lot of the new team, I don’t even know if we have any of the 343 OGs left like Frank O’ Conor or you know, uh, any any of those people back in the day, a lot of them have left, have been fired, but like not not not publicly fired. I think that a lot of them were let go because of the direction and leadership was losing Microsoft money. But ultimately, Halo Studios, it seems that there’s been a lot of tension within the team. Now, why is there a lot of tension? is left to be kind of explored fully. But what I am actually pretty optimistic about today is the second project that is on the menu for Halo and it is going to be a multiplayeron experience. The thing with the Halo CE remake, according to some reports that Revs Gaming has covered, is that the Halo CE remake is going to be only campaign. Only the campaign is going to be remade. There is going to be no forge, no multiplayer, no theater, none of that. And I think that this is a very good idea. It’s like training wheels for a game developer. And I actually think that with Doom Dark Ages, it was a very good experience. They just focused on delivering very good on one mode because AAA developers generally across the board can’t do anything right. Um, at least across the board in general. So focusing on just doing one thing is actually, I think, very good. If 343 could nail the campaign, maybe they could have the multiplayer privileges back. But I think that they should focus on just one little thing while we have a different studio work on something differently. Now, this is really good news because certain Affinity, which has worked on a lot of Halo stuff in the past, they are not owned by Microsoft. This is technically outsourcing a Halo experience. And it’s something that I’ve been pleading publicly. Please Microsoft do this. Like 343 clearly is not functional right now. They can’t deliver stuff. They’re always in crisis mode. So you go to other studios that that have good leadership, that have good structure, right? And that is Certain Affinity. Now, we heard a few years ago that Certain Affinity was going to make a the next evolution of the Halo Infinite experience. data miners because 343 has been notoriously bad at covering their tracks and keeping things private, right? Because of bad coding, I think by contractors, we’ve been able to see pretty much exactly what the studio has been doing behind the scenes, or at least like the API miners have been able to, right? Well, it looks like Project Tatonka got shut down a couple of years ago. But right around that time, funny enough, is when other pieces of information started flowing to us as well, that Halo Studios 343 was going to be rebranded and will actually be going to Unreal Engine. And that did come to fruition. So, what is happening? It seems that certain affinity has stopped development obviously on Halo Infinite stuff a couple of years ago and so far has completely switched into Unreal Engine 5 for a battle royale and possibly this is pure speculation an arena experience. That means that 343 will not be making multiplayer moving forward at least for the next couple of years. This could be a very good thing. This could be our centerpiece for Halo, our live service game that is updated, that can actually compete with Apex Legends and Fortnite in a way that respects Halo that, you know, maybe even does the typical battle royale stuff, but is still really fun. And and this is one of the concessions you have to make while in in an abusive relationship. like some of the things you just have to accept that battle royale at this point, you know, maybe 10 years ago battle royale didn’t belong in Halo, but at this point I think it’s worth a shot, right? I think it’s worth a shot. If if that’s what brings people back to Halo, then, you know, I don’t know what harm it’s going to do exactly, right? I mean, it would be nice to have a platform for Battle Royale, but also like the classic arena experience in that game as well. But regardless, what’s important here is that Certain Infinity seems to be developing the next Halo game um as far as multiplayer goes. And according to the data miner that this uh project Tatona was actually cenamed Project Eker, right? And that recently it is getting updated every 6 hours. So this could be a big multiplayer mode. Maybe it’s not even battle royale. Maybe it’s just a big arena mode that’s like now 30 versus 30 players. Maybe it could be something completely different, but 343 has spoken out and against Battle Royale many times. Uh maybe that leadership’s gone, but I think that, you know, uh certain affinity being working on the next Halo game, a non-Microsoft owned studio, mind you, they seem to be very efficient and uh they have a lot of soul, I think, from what I’m able to tell. And that they’ve worked with Bungie on Halo stuff in the past and even uh 343 as well. So ultimately what is next? What is to look forward to here is that obviously a couple weeks ago they said on Halo waypoint a new dawn was just the beginning. So at this Halo Halo’s world championship we look forward to continuing this conversation. It sounds like maybe another Vidok is going to drop. And they said, “Also, speculation is always fun, but if you want the official scoop on what Halo Studios has been working on, you won’t want to miss this year’s Halo World Championship. We really hope to see you.” Okay, so this is big because it sounds like there’s going to be some big proper announcement or trailer, even if it’s a light little teaser that cinematic only for certain Affinity is multiplayer mode, that is going to be huge. I think that’s going to be really exciting. uh and to see that there’s other studios, other people, other leadership getting involved here because while 343 has rebranded themselves in the Halo Studios, I think pretty much collectively anyone that is at all informed about what is going on here knows that this is just a big cover up. They have to prove that they’re a new studio with different ambitions, different tackles, and that this is truly a third chapter because as far as most people are concerned, this is still 343 uh portraying themselves as rebranded, but they haven’t quite earned that. And I wish they earned it before actually announcing it. But, you know, from what I’ve heard is that it’s the same old studio with the same old issues and that uh the same culture issues as well. Um, and again, I don’t know anything. This is just what I’m hearing and seeing, but uh, Revs Gaming had a good report about it. So, feel free to check that out down in the description. But, I think ultimately um, if you guys are excited, let me know down in the comment section below. And I’m I I I don’t care at this point. I would be down to see a battle royale. I just want to see something with Halo that works, right? Even if it is a dreadful battle royale, so many
